La Grande Année is an exceptional year, revealed through Bollinger's savoir-faire. Connoisseurs will recognize the texture of this wine, but may be surprised to discover what makes 2015 so special. La Grande Année presents sensory and emotional qualities that evoke the theme of the forest and the wild world, a universe that gave structure and precision to both cuvées during the aging period in oak barrels. Our savoir-faire promotes the development of flavors and provides the ideal conditions for maturation. It is a blend of 11 crus, predominantly 60% Pinot Noir from Verzenay, Aÿ, and Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, and 40% Chardonnay from Chouilly and Avize. Fermentation takes place entirely in oak barrels and the wine is aged, sealed with a natural cork stopper, for more than twice the time required by the denomination. The dosage is moderate: 8 grams per liter.
